Voter Registration Events: Hosting Made Easy

Voting is the foundation of engaging in the community and voter registration is the first step in ensuring you can vote on Election Day. There are several ways to register to vote on your own, including online and in-person. You can read more about how to register to vote here.
Unfortunately, many people aren’t aware that they are allowed to vote or don’t know how or where to register to vote. This is where voter registration events can be helpful. Disability Rights Tennessee wants to ensure that people with disabilities have their voices heard and exercise their rights to vote, so we’ve created a ‘Voter Registration in a Box.’
WHAT IS IT?
The Voter Registration in a Box program provides all materials and resources you need to host your own voter registration event in one convenience spot. From information about how to determine an accessible venue and promote your event to providing the materials needed to support someone in registering to vote, we’ve got you covered. Boxes include: voter registration forms, postage, event fliers, event stickers, social media tips and sample posts, planning guide, educational resources, return postage, and more. And, if you have questions, DRT staff is available to help you!
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Preparing to host a voter registration event is easy! Request our Voter Registration in a Box today by clicking the link below. You will be shipped a box with information about materials, so that you can start planning your event. You then use the materials at your event, and if you run into questions, just contact our DRT Voting Advocate. Once your event is finished, you pack up any unused materials back into the box, fill out a short survey about your event, and attach the prepaid return postage label.
We hope you’ll request a box today! With an exciting year ahead of local, state, and federal elections, DRT wants every Tennessean with disabilities to have a chance to make their voice heard.
