Celebrate ADA 28

  • July 13, 2018

This year we are celebrating the 28th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Signed into law on July 26, 1990, the ADA protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination in all areas of their life. From employment, transportation, services, and communications, the law makes sure that individuals with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. For 28 years, this law has promoted equal access, protected, and served all people with disabilities. That’s worth celebrating!

How can you celebrate?

ONLINE

Use your voice and celebrate the ADA on social media. Use hashtag #ADA28. Also, sign the ADA Pledge!

AT YOUR WORKPLACE

  • Host a discussion about the impact the ADA has made on your organization
  • Send staff to ADA related workshops - Find workshops
  • Use the ADA National Network for training - Link to website
  • Conduct trainings for staff on ADA related issues

What better way to stand with the ADA than by signing a proclamation as an organization? Click here to celebrate and recommit to the ADA.
